ABL today announced organizational changes for 2025 to assert its position in the market.
It has been one year since ABL was incorporated into the Wallbox Group. Over the past year, ABL and Wallbox have achieved a number of key product and certification milestones, successfully navigating the challenges brought by the current EV market slowdown.
Following the successful completion of key integration steps between ABL and Wallbox in 2024, changes in ABL's management structure will take effect from January 1, 2025. As such, Dr. Stefan Schlutius and Sabine Spiller-Schlutius will step down from their roles as Managing Partners. Moving forward, Ferdinand Schlutius and Jaume Ferre will lead the company, continuing their roles as CEOs. To ensure continuity and a seamless transition, Dr. Stefan Schlutius will continue to support the company as an external advisor.
"We used our first year together to properly get to know each other and evaluate each other's strengths. All with the goal of benefitting from all the possible synergies and integrating our systems, processes and business operations as efficiently as possible. I believe we have built a solid foundation for the continued success of ABL and its products as part of the Wallbox Group." said Dr. Stefan Schlutius.
As announced in 2023, ABL, a member of the Wallbox Group, is responsible for the D-A-CH region markets and remains dedicated to developing and producing its eMobility and Connectivity products at its headquarters in Lauf. Sabine Spiller-Schlutius said "We are pleased that ABL will continue being a strong brand in the DACH markets, demonstrating that technological products can successfully combine innovation with a strong emphasis on design and visual appeal. We're also excited to see ABL products gaining global recognition as they are distributed worldwide by Wallbox".
"Dr. Stefan Schlutius and Sabine Schlutius have been instrumental to the ABL brand and operations over the past decades, and I want to take this opportunity to recognize the contributions they have made. We are glad to be able to ensure the continuity of this rich German company through the ongoing leadership of Ferdinand Schlutius and Dr. Schlutius' appointment as an external advisor to the company," said Jaume Ferre, CEO of ABL. "2024 has marked a year of significant progress in positioning ABL to capture and support future EV growth in the DACH region."
"The fact that we have jointly launched three new products in 2024 is a testament to the collaboration and synergies between Wallbox and ABL. Over the course of the year we successfully launched the Wallbox ABL Pulsar and Supernova 220 into the DACH market, and the Wallbox eM4 into key new regions. We are excited to continue enhancing and expanding our product portfolios to deliver innovative and future-proof solutions to customers worldwide," said Ferdinand Schlutius, CEO of ABL.
ABL has always been dedicated to delivering versatile charging solutions designed to meet diverse needs across home, commercial, and public use cases. With the introduction of the Supernova 220, ABL's portfolio now spans both AC and DC charging technologies. As we look forward to 2025, the focus will shift to refining and expanding the eMobility offering. ABL and Wallbox are driven by a shared vision: to become the leading one-stop provider for customers, offering innovative EV charging and energy management solutions that drive the evolution of sustainable mobility.
