The Wallbox for your home
The Wallbox for your home
On December the 3th 2018, the ADAC, Europe's largest automobile association with around 20 million members, published the results of its wall box product test. Twelve wall boxes from international manufacturers with charging capacities from 3.7 to 22 kW were tested. Reliability during charging, safety and ease of use were put to the test in this comparison of the different systems.
The eMH1 Wallbox by ABL received top ratings for all three criteria. The report also emphasized as a positive that the eMH1 Wallbox does not require additional residual current protection. The Wallbox is pre-installed ready for connection, so there are no hidden additional costs. All electric vehicles tested by ADAC were able to be charged easily at the eMH1 Wallbox. The result is unambiguous: With a top mark of 1.0, the eMH1 Wallbox by ABL is the winner.

The combination of DC fault current detection module and Type A RCCB provides a complete solution. This makes Type B or Type EV RCCBs redundant. If a DC fault current is detected in the charging circuit, charging is interrupted for 30 seconds. At the end of this period, the Wallbox restarts automatically.
The integrated phase current measurement protects against overload and asymmetry in all variants with charging socket and the cable variant with 22 kW charging power.
Welding detection is covered by hardware technology. The residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) is tripped remotely if a contactor weld occurs.
Integrated temperature monitoring protects the eMH1 Wallbox from overheating. Should the temperature exceed the limit, it reduces the charging output of the Wallbox or switches it off completely. If the temperature drops again, the eMH1 Wallbox automatically switches back to full charging output.
The charging current range can be selected in 1 A increments via software.

For domestic use, the Wallbox eMH1 with charging cable is recommended. The annoying 'getting the charging cable from the trunk' is eliminated. Simply connect the charging connector to the vehicle, and the charging procedure can be initiated.
As an optional accessory, the mounting plate for the Wallbox eMH1 offers you an optimal solution for storing the charging cable.
For commercial applications, the eMH1 Wallbox with charging socket offers maximum flexibility. Any vehicle with a Type 1 or Type 2 connector can be charged using an adapter cable.
